I'm Ally. I write stories. I also write poems sometimes, but that's neither here nor there. I like to doodle in the margins. I am probably eating designer fruit in my bed right now.
About me
I’m finally comfortable with referring to myself as a writer since receiving my MFA in Creative Writing and Publishing Arts from the University of Baltimore. Many of my story ideas come from an elaborate dream journal that I keep in the notes section of my phone. I live in Baltimore City with my very dramatic cat, Little Edie (although she is more medium sized as of late), an anxious puppy named Roger Miller, and my family. Even though writing is technically my “passion,” you can also find me performing in local community theaters and choirs. You can also find me on the most esteemed indie mastheads. Interior Lives is my first collection.

Interior Lives
We are all main characters in our own stories.
Blending humor with human observation, Interior Lives uncovers the experiences of people struggling to do no more than exist as themselves. Each story tackles common occurrences readers are sure to recognize: infidelity, death, infertility, micro-aggressions in romantic relationships, and oddly enough, the never-fluctuating price of Costco rotisserie chicken. Both resonant and relevant, this collection lifts the story off the page, beyond the ink and watermarks, and into the private corners of its characters' troubled minds. Throughout Interior Lives, the mundane is revealed to be anything but ordinary.
